Renfrew of the Royal Mounted is a novel in which a former member of the North-West Mounted Rifles (pre-cursor to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police) recounts stories of adventure to boys. The boys are inspired to form the Explorers Club and have some adventure of their own.The image of the red-jacked lawman stoically pursuing his quarry has become a symbol of Canada and will continue to enthrall boys and people fond of a bygone era. This is the first of a series of novels that would grow into radio programs and movies.There is outdated language and ideas about Indigenous peoples and other minorities.
