Lamb in a Jungle. Conscience and Consequence in the Vietnam War
Kenneth F. Teglia Lamb in a Jungle is the personal journey of a field artillery officer, Kenneth Teglia, in the Vietnam War. Teglia served with an infantry company as a forward observer and saw much combat where he was required to call in artillery strikes on the enemy during close combat. The bonds he developed with his fellow soldiers were deep, but the knowledge of the death and destruction he participated in haunted his soul. Teglia was subsequently selected by an Army general to give classes to all arriving soldiers in the division about the importance of treating the Vietnamese people with respect and how that can save lives, even with the knowledge that some of the Vietnamese may be the enemy. The quandary faced by Teglia's two assignments is a unique look into the paradox that was the Vietnam War.
