Do we leave bullying behind in the playground? Sadly, no. Many adults have suffered bullying in their workplace or in social settings. The church is not immune and bullying takes place in the church too. This book is the result of careful research into the subject of ministers who are bullied in the church. The author acknowledges that some ministers bully their congregation and other ministers and this may be the subject of a future work. In this book we find some shocking statistics about the number of ministers who have been bullied at church. The tactics used by chuch bullies are identified, as are the triggers that can cause bullying in the church and the impact that bullying has on the minister, their family and on the Gospel witness of the church itself. Who bullies the minister? And why do congregations and other leaders stand by and let it happen? Some deeper reflection on how we view God, church and church leadership then take us into chapters about how we can change the culture that permits bullying in the church, how we can have healthy leaders and how we might begin to set the church free from bullying. This will not be an easy book to read. It will not be easy to ignore!
