Knot Your Business

Matching is pivotal. Matching is momentous. Matching is sacred. Or so the Council says. Watching the dynamic between my mother and fathers has stripped the rose-colored glasses from me, though. I’ve never wanted to match. And I certainly never wanted to attend one of the glitzy galas the Council uses to woo Omegas. At least, not until an absolute nightmare of a heat a couple months ago and the fallout of it. So now I have one night that will dictate my future. I’m determined to make the most of it. Running into the Alpha I haven’t stopped thinking about since my time at the Haven last fall is a dream come true. Until I realize he’s involved with the man that broke my heart four years ago. I’m staring at a match that has heartbreak written all over it. Between the cold, aloof Alpha from the Italian mafia, the Beta that has more than a passing history with me, and a mother that's convinced she knows better than the Council on who I should end up with, something is going to break. Unfortunately, no matter which way I look at it, the only reasonable answer is that it’ll be me. And I don’t think I'll be able to put myself back together this time.
