Sizemore BLACK MARY - A Horror in One Act A psychological horror play in one act with two characters taking place in 1880s London during the reign of Jack the Ripper.Mary is visited by her mysterious client, John, and hopes for an easy transaction so she can resume her evening of drinking. But nothing is going to be easy tonight and John just seems off.
When their conversation veers from flirtation into something far more personal, the truth ends up being more of a nightmare than a revelation. Mary wishes to walk through life as quietly as possible but John will make sure her greatest accomplishment is her death.
This short play explores the duality of human nature through love and violence, vulnerability and aggression, and deception and honesty.
Take care you don't tread too lightly, or no one will know you ever walked at all. Black Mary will live on forever.
