Fragmentary

A once-shunned telepath. An elite enforcement team. A light at the end of the tunnel... if we catch a murderer. It took a madman for me to prove my worth as an enforcer and find my telepathy useful. Since, my life has improved. I've got a boyfriend who lets me know he adores me, even if he can't speak, and a team that actually sees me as an asset. Topping it off is the possibility of leaving Minefield behind once and for all. What more could a girl want? But with enforcer training, self-centered councilmen and a murderer on the loose, my newfound comfort is disappearing faster than a sugar cube under my horse's nose. Each day brings a new fissure my music can't mend. Pain, prejudice and disillusionment threaten to shatter my newly cemented team. So there's no way I can tell them about me, that I'm an outsider even in Minefield. If we fall apart, the Enhanced will never see freedom. I may not always get along with my fellow enforcers, but I won't let anyone take them out. Not even me.
