Darcy's Pursuit

ALL SERENE? Elizabeth Bennet takes afternoon tea in Lambton; back at the inn, her uncle and aunt are resting after their tour of the Derbyshire peaks. Enjoying the tranquil charm of the village, and a reassuring letter from Jane, she feels at peace despite reports that the Darcys have returned for the summer; if the Gardiners visit Pemberley she need not accompany them. Elizabeth relaxes, enjoying her tea and scones. Minutes later she finds herself racing out of Lambton in Darcy’s carriage. He is adamant he will return her to the inn by evening … But matters turn out quite differently.
