The year is 1984. The path to love for Sangue and Benigo hasn't been easy, but they only have one obstacle in between them and happily ever after, Benigo's mortality. Benigo is dying. The plan is that Sangue will turn him as soon as he reaches the point of no return. That is one of the conditions, the others being that Benigo needs to be willing and he needs to drink Sangue's blood. When Benigo heals from his terminal illness instead, Sangue is just happy to have longer with Benigo in his human form. Even if Benigo did promise that Sangue would be the thing he remembered after turning, Sangue wasn't so sure. He didn't remember his own sire, after all. Now Benigo wants to use Sangue's blood to make a difference. He thinks they can help stop the epidemic that is sweeping the gay community. Sangue may not care about humans other than Benigo, but he cares enough about his lover to want him to be happy and he knows that this will make Benigo happy. Sangue and Benigo set out to start curing people carefully covering their tracks. But they aren't careful enough and a dangerous vampire who dislikes what they're doing sets out to stop them, using any means necessary. If you had the power to cure an epidemic, how much would you be willing to sacrifice to do it? Sangue and Benigo are about to find out.
