The Circle's End

War rages in the empire, a gory conflict against the forces of the Darkside. The monsters stand united while the humans, elves, and dwarfs keep bickering on the other side of the battlefront. Having retrieved a magical battleax, Baard faces a task that is too big for him: unite warriors and mages—living and dead—for the Ultimate Battle. Although he makes a dreadful sacrifice, he can’t be sure of victory. The dead mages will disappear if killed again, and no spell can ever bring them back. Despite their Might, the living mages bleed and die like ordinary people. And bleed and die they will.
