Janine, Eggs and Lemons

This is a novella. When Emily Palmer finds herself in the waiting area of the labour ward with an irate mother-to-be, she recounts the story of how she happens to be there, alone, to calm the situation. Her bizarre courtroom tale, of the oddest custody battle in history, gives her reason to reflect on the outcome of her child's future happiness on the small decision of her birth name.
