It is the year of the Great Recession. Sean has just come through a lawsuit and trial that have cost him his promising start-up, his marriage, and his sense of self. In the aftermath the only job he has been able to wrangle is at Greenpeace—as a twelve-dollar-an-hour canvasserTo make it, Sean must lean on the help of his new eco-freak friends who are half his age and living on the counter-culture edge. Sean begins a journey through his own evolution, from his former privileged existence to life at the loopy bottom of the green food chain. THE CANVASSER is not only a comeback tale. Despite this, it is at its heart a feel-good story as Sean makes his way from the grocery store parking lot to National Canvass Director for Greenpeace, the largest in-house canvass in North America.
