Connecticut's Tobacco Valley produces what is arguably the finest shade tobacco available, prized by cigar makers the world over. But, the lush, green region harbors a secret. Retired police detective Dan McNulty (The River, Iris) is back with a new mystery to solve. When he and his wife travel to Connecticut for her brother-in-law's funeral their nephew, Dr. Cole Daniels, shows his uncle a folder his father amassed over the years. The senior Daniels, also a physician, was fascinated by police work and almost chose a career in law enforcement over medicine. The folder contains notes, newspaper articles, and details of an investigation into the unsolved homicide of a family almost fifty years earlier. McNulty, who is now working as a private detective, is intrigued by the case and begins his own investigation. What he discovers will shock the small Connecticut town of Winfield.
