Set forty years before the events of NIMBUS: A STEAMPUNK NOVEL, this is the story of Alfred Gangly, the auger's marble, and the Assembled Court before Cornelius Rucca served as High Prelate. --- Captain Orion Grant has just received the job of a lifetime—smuggle an ancient artifact to the other side of the world and sell it to an airship corporation for an enormous payout. That is, of course, if he can avoid the relentless mercenaries that are after him, or outwit the traitor aboard his ship.
