Christ's mother Mary is perhaps the most misunderstood figure in the history and current practice of Christianity. This book seeks to clarify the nature and role of the Blessed Mother by looking at her through four different perspectives. "The Personal" tells the story of Mary's subjective influence on my own life. "The Historical" looks at Mary's influence down through the Christian age. "The Scriptural" is based upon the thought of St. John Henry Cardinal Newman and examines Mary's role purely in terms of the Bible. And "The Spiritual" details Mary's role as Coredemptrix and the perennial truths of the spiritual life this role points to for us all.
