Mal: Hollis Ward is the distraction that keeps on giving. After a scandalous encounter at a party, we decide we’re better off as friends–or as close to friends as we’ll ever be. That is until our lives become far more entangled than either of us are comfortable with. We end up on a project together and, surprise surprise, he’s impossible to work with. I’d be better off arguing with my camera than reasoning with him. So why am I drawn to him anyway? Neither of us find it necessary to let anyone else know just how close we’ve gotten, so we choose to keep that information private–for now. But his being my best friend’s brother makes things a bit more complicated… Hollis: I don’t think I’ve ever run into another person quite like Mal Brooks; infuriating, unreasonable, obstinate–all words she’d probably use to describe me. For someone with flawed logic and even more flawed priorities, she sure acts like she has it all together. She’s a temptation in sheep's clothing so it’s best I avoid her, but our circumstances make that impossible. Besides, I don’t want a relationship and neither does she. I have my own things going on that no one needs to be privy to. But the more the lines begin to blur, the more I find that the demons I thought I had put to rest are not gone at all. Instead, they’re going to bring down everything around me, and the only one to blame is myself. Lust, Loathing, & Architecture is the second book in the Monteska University series. It is a series of standalone stories that can be read in any order, but it is recommended that they are read in publishing order.
