Poetry. Latino/Latina Studies. Juan J. Morales was born in the U.S. but has extended family in Ecuador and Puerto Rico; family stories inspired much of the poems in FRIDAY AND THE YEAR THAT FOLLOWED. Juan received his MFA from the University of New Mexico in 2005. His poetry has appeared in Blue Mesa Review, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, PoetLore, and War, Literature, and the Arts.
