This multi-part study covers a century of Asian history, tracking the emergence of national sovereignties as they break free of colonial subjugation. The focus is on China, India, Korea, and Vietnam as they fought against and defeated their diverse the British, French, Japanese, and American. In this world-transforming process the creative-destructiveroles of Russia and Germany are taken into account, especially their connections to Japan's rivalry and collaboration with the White / Western empires, down to the definitive defeat of the Japanese by the American Empire in World War Two. The main forces driving the pace of this period are the two world wars and the two great revolutions they gave birth to, the Russian and the Chinese.
