Die 16-jährige Gonzo kennt kein Zuhause. Sie hat ihre Kindheit in den Spezialheimen der DDR, den Jugendwerkhöfen, verbracht. Und irgendwann ist sie direkt in der Hölle aus Willkür und Gewalt gelandet: im Geschlossenen Jugendwerkhof Torgau. Zur Strafe sitzt Gonzo dort im Dunkelarrest und ist den brutalen Methoden der Erzieher hilflos ausgeliefert. Eines weiß sie genau: Das überlebt sie kein zweites Mal! Als sie in einen anderen Jugendwerkhof gebracht werden soll, gelingt ihr die Flucht. Aber wo soll sie hin? Dann trifft sie Renè, der in den Westen will. Kann Gonzo ihm vertrauen? She spent her childhood in the DDR's special hostels. And one of these days she ended up in hell of arbitrariness and violence: in the unified Youth Hostel in Torgau. As a punishment Gonzo is sitting in a dark cell und she is at the mercy of the housemasters' violent practices. And she is absolutely sure: She wouldn't survive such thing a second time!!! When she is said to be brought to another Youth Hostel she manages it to escape. But where shall she go?? Then she meets Renè who wants to go to the West. Can Gonzo trust in him? And will she ever be really free?
