In book 2, John, Kelly, Samantha and Mike continue their travels to the farm in Rolla. Along the way they pick up some new friends that were about to be eaten by zombies. Their new friends are now destitute and have nowhere to go. John and his family take them in and provide them with food and shelter. John meets a beautiful young woman who turns out to be the woman of his dreams. John and his family find the real reason for the zombie outbreak. It was a diabolical hidden agenda of the government. John and his family learn that there is a cure and set out to reproduce it.
