Are our lives ruled by fate or do we live a life that’s full of random events that change by chance decisions other people make? A decision we make now, may change the life of a complete stranger somewhere down the line - is that their fate? Does this mean there is a balance between chance and fate? If psychics can see into the future and tell us what fate has in store for us, doesn’t this just give us a chance to change it? Is this really only again - balance? But here’s a thought: What if there is only fate, but the catch is...it actually rules how we live our lives - when we die! It was a normal morning for bubbly designer shop owner Kate Giles. As she was about to leave home for work, a large package was handed to her by an unresponsive delivery man - there was no name or address on it. After removing the wrapping she discovered another much older covering underneath. On closer inspection, the second layer did have an address written on it. Although unreadable it was post marked for the USA. Inside the package was, what appeared to be, a weird looking star shaped ornament, and at letter! As she dared to read it, Kate was surprised to find that the package was meant to be delivered to her late grandmother in 1945. Even more surprisingly it was from her grandfather, but as far as she knew, he was executed by Germans in 1944, apparently for looting. Kate wasn’t to know that her quest to uncover the truth about his supposed death threatened to expose a secret organisation's sinister agenda. Across the Atlantic, former astronaut Paige Cullan had problems of her own. Now working for the FBI, she received some information that questioned the events that led to her forced retirement from NASA. Using the resources at her disposal, she too found herself on a collision course with the shady organisation that Kate Giles was unknowingly about to pursue.
