Jamie Carr has come to London in the hope of winning a place at the prestigious ballet school where Anita, his friend and former partner, is a full-time student. Life on his own is full as he juggles a job in a department store and a dance class every night while wondering how to get along with his roommate in their seedy apartment. But Jamie's main concern is finding a girlfriend, since his romantic fantasies about the girls in his ballet class never quite work out. The girl he really wants is unattainable ballet-mad Anita, whom he's placed on a pedestal. A dancing career, a future with Anita: Can Jamie work hard enough to win them both?
