The Half Child

Sarah is different from other children. Only her older sister, Lucy, can understand her gruff, rumbling speech. The rest of the family clings to a superstition, common in the seventeenth century, that Sarah is a changeling, left by the fairies. When a new baby is born, Sarah mysteriously disappears. Lucy searches for her in vain. Have the fairies really reclaimed Sarah?
