When prospector Aaron McAllister and his young son Andy discover gold in the harsh north-western desert they soon find themselves in deadly danger. Pursued by outlaws, suffering in the extreme heat, they battle for survival. Even the town where they seek refuge turns out to be a place fraught with peril for travelers laden with treasure. As one old prospector put it, ‘If the outlaws don’t get you, the Mojave Desert will!’ When things take a turn for the worse, it seems there is no-one willing to help them – until a mysterious stranger comes out of the heat-haze to offer them one slim chance of salvation…
