Two years after the brutal massacre of a family, the Family Killer strikes again. The M.O. is the same as before – he leaves one female alive and sends her a taunting text message. Ex- detective sergeant Terence Marsland is trying to forget his former life as policeman and husband, when he's begged by the Family Killer's original victim to privately reinvestigate the case. Against his better judgement, Marsland becomes embroiled in a race against the official police investigation to find the killer while struggling to keep his own fears and insecurities at bay. Marsland realises that the killer likes to observe, to soak up the agony of the victims he leaves alive - but he soon becomes the victim himself. Out there somewhere the Family Killer is watching...
