The Economics of Property Management

The economic analysis of a building is a complex subject and traditionally has focused on a single aspect of the structure or a single part of the construction process. Dr Tempelmans Plat is a leading proponent of a new methdology which focuses on the building as a stock of services to be supplied over a long lifespan. This method is more realistic than current methods since it takes into account the changes in use and adaptation of the building over its lifespan. The first book to make this method available and comprehensible to a wide audience, "The Economics of Property Management" treats buildings as complex economics situations that are affected by various developments. Dr Tempelmans Plat is based at Eindhoven University of Technology and has a world-wide reputation for his work. He already used material in the book for his course and hence the book will be relevant to students of design, quantity surveying, construction management, property/real estate management adn finance, and facilities management, as well as practitioners in these fields.
