Ged Reading

This workbook accompanies GED on TV airing on PBS stations. Students watch the programs on television and use the practice exercises in the workbook. The workbook has 16 chapters covering basic Reading skills(5), Science (6) and Social Studies (5). Students start by reading the first section of the workbook, which tells you what the television lesson is about and lists new words and their meanings. The next two sections give you an exercise to complete and help you focus on the learning goals for the television lesson. After you watch the program, you will return to the workbook chapter to work on practice exercises. Each exercise has three parts. The first part helps you understand the skills. The second part gives you a chance to practice the skills. The third part lets you check your answers. (Revised 1994)
