Meet It all started when I didn’t show up at the altar. How was I to know my rebound guy would end up being my brother’s brother-in-law? Talk about awkward ever after. But that’s usually how things go for me. And now I took a job unaware of what and who I signed up to work for. Why won’t he just leave? Meet I knew Tess still considered me some muscle bound, Barbie pursuing player. I couldn’t blame her. It used to be my type. Lately they couldn’t hold my interest. Now I liked to think of myself as more discerning and mature. Tess thought I sold gym equipment. She didn’t know this old renovated Victorian Inn with the pink trim was a third mine. When my sister asked me if it would be okay if they hired Tess to manage the B&B I knew there was going to be fun ahead. So I told my sis and my brother-in-law not to let Tess know I was a silent partner. She thought I was here to finish the small work-out room. Tess and I under the same roof had bad written all over it in so many ways. This was going to be fun. When Tess is blindsided into becoming innkeeper of her brother and sister-in-law’s latest renovation, she worries she may not have the most welcoming personality. She’s been overlooked and underestimated most of her life. Her self-confidence is lacking. Plus, no way does she want to be in a position to see the man who secretly stars in her dreams more than the occasional family get together. Romeo is not as romantic as his name implies. He’s had his share of failed jobs though he likes to call them experiences. From roadie, to professional wrestler, to minor acting roles everything he’s ever done has been for show. Finally successful he still likes to crash with his pregnant little sister and brother-in-law from time to time. When they issue a not so subtle hint to leave, he decides to take up residence at the new Victorian Inn they renovated. When Tess learns Ro is staying at the Inn, she knows the years they’ve spent taunting each other for their own amusement and ignoring their attraction may be a problem. She can ignore that he’s built like Thor and looks like him too. She knows they aren’t in the same league. But Ro sees no problem pursuing her even though he acknowledges the family connection could be awkward and there was that one time when she was on the rebound and he turned her down. But that was nothing, this time they could be something. Sweet Nothings is a stand-alone novel in the Sweet Series, told in first person from both the male and female’s point of view. The Sweet Series is written for those who are looking for a fun, light hearted romance between 150-200 pages. Every book in the series has a quirky abode, a rescued dog or kitty, a woman who is currently a train wreck or has been in the past, and a fun-loving guy who may or may not be the man of her dreams. Somewhat realistic, (so no billionaires), and endearing with a guaranteed happy ending. The Sweet Series is the perfect pick-me-up.
