Hannah Ferguson Heather Simpson is the author of several successful women’s fiction novels under the pen name Femmy Lovecraft. She is taking a much-needed vacation on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean, hoping to outrun her guilt over her husband’s near-fatal accident that left him brain-dead. On the ship Heather encounters Ghalib Tourniquet, a suave and mysterious French-Moroccan aristocrat who seems to know too much about her. Despite his suspiciously intimate knowledge, Heather is drawn to Ghalib and accepts his invitation to visit his home in Casablanca. But before their budding affair can progress, Heather is called home because of a crisis with her husband’s health. She ends their fling, but not before her heart has been irrevocably intertwined with Ghalib’s. Ghalib has it all—the wealth, the looks, and the lifestyle—but nothing brings him true satisfaction. His life changes when he discovers Femmy Lovecraft’s novels and becomes obsessed with meeting the author. He goes to extreme lengths to get close to Heather Simpson, not realizing the consequences his actions will have on both of their lives. Told from both perspectives, Casablanca My Heart, is an unusual romance about two broken people finding their unexpected soul mate.
