Westering: A Novel in Stories

Set largely in the American Southwest, the seven stories in Westering, when read in order, add up to a cumulative whole which lends dimension to each of its parts. It is not, by most standards, a novel, and yet more than a random collection of stories-perhaps a "snovel," suggests the author, J. M. Ferguson, Jr., though he is quick to add that he is far from the originator of the form. Indeed, in the interest of accuracy he would perfer to be known, if at all, as "just another snovelist."
