Understanding the way in which people develop from babies through to older adulthood is fundamental to good social work practice. It allows the worker to be sensitive and appropriate in their communication with people and in the services they offer and provide, as well as helping them to work effectively with other professionals. This book aims to demonstrate how knowledge of human life-span development can inform social work practice in key areas.
