#1-3 Professor Challenger
The Lost World - The Poison Belt - The Land of Mist -- Professor Challenger Trilogy
The Challenger Trilogy, are three books Authored by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, that all deal with his other great character beside Sherlock Holmes, that of Professor George Edward Challenger.Professor Challenger is an adventurer not unlike Indiana Jones, a relic hunter. He is also a pretentious and self-righteous scientific jack-of-all-trades. Although considered by the press to be "just a homicidal megalomaniac with a turn for science"He in ridiculed for claiming to have found an undiscovered land in the middle of the Amazon basin where dinosaurs still exist and primitive humans are at constant war with ape-like humanoids. To vindicate himself to the world, he invites a journalist to accompany him along with several other explorers and adventure seekers on a journey back to the Amazon. But having already tempted fate once, his whole group becomes embroiled in war themselves. There's far more of value under the ground than above it, as they soon find out.The first three books in the 5 book series are in the public domain and there are two more unrelated novels with the character of Professor Challenger, though the last two were written after Sir Arthur got caught up in Spiritualism and gained new beliefs that ultimately shattered his reputation for Holmsian logic which we developed, so even if they were available for sale, They are almost not worth the read, you will have to find the original books if you wished to read them.
