Fifteen-year-old Rachel MacCaw is angry. Her mother has walked out and her father is cross-country hauling his huge rig. Rachel has been dumped on her Great Aunt Irene, whose "stately home" turns out to be a crumbling pile of bricks the colour of raw liver. And they are not alone.
