Poetry and Language

Through an organized approach to the elements of the poetic craft, Poetry and Language helps students become more aware of the dynamics of language - Enhances the students' own use of language and their appreciation of poetry. - Aids students in becoming sensitive, knowledgeable, appreciative readers and articulate writers. - Includes questions following each selection that are addressed to one or two aspects of the poem, and provide access to the interior structure of the poem without diminishing its content. - Contains poems within each unit that progress from the readily accessible to those which are more complex in content and expression. - Supplies sufficient material to be used during two consecutive school years. - Provides flexibility through a multiple index.
