This book progressively takes the student through the entire subject of the cryptanalysis of the Hagelin Cryptograph, also known as M-209 in the U.S. Army during World War II. The text begins with the analysis of a one- wheel machine, then a two-wheel machine, until finally the analysis of the actual six-wheel machine is reached. Problems to be solved are included.
