In the old days, Joe Zanca fought inside the ropes of the boxing ring, rolling over opponents as "Zank the Tank." Now he's just plain old Zank, San Fransico p.i. And when his back is up against the wall, he pulls no punches. Someone is trying to frame Zank's old buddy in the SFPD, Lt. Leslie Donaldson, for the murder of a crooked cop whose partners in crime still have shiny badges and dirty fingers. With "Operation Dreamland," these bent cops are bending over backward to corner the market on Sentenyl--a phony heroin far deadlier than the real thing. Now they want Donaldson out of their way, so they're setting him up for an extended visit to the slammer. Zank teams up with Donaldson's blond, brainy and slightly bizarre daughter, Samantha, to clear his name. But they're leaving themselves wide open for a vicious knockout blow.
