Two Tales

York, 1274: When a young carpenter is found stabbed to death after a harvest festival, Matthew Cordwainer, King’s Coroner of York, discovers too many suspects, each with a different reason to kill the man. As he works to learn the truth of the matter, he instructs his twelve-year-old companion Hugh in how to become a good manservant and tells him the story of how he solved the murder of two sisters fifteen years earlier.
