P.I. Dev Haskell receives an unexpected phone call from former friend with benefits, Heidi Bauer. Seems she has a question about an investment possibility and would Dev mind checking it out. At the same time an old friend, Augie Douglas, pays a visit. A cousin of Augie’s wife, a nice, bright, kid has been arrested for the murder of a former girlfriend. Augie believes the kid is innocent … At no surprise things get crazy. The two guys looking for new investors… mmm, the more Dev learns the more things just don’t add up. Or do they? The murder of the former girlfriend… it just might be a setup, but why? Oh, and Morton, Dev’s Golden Retriever… He’s got a new friend, Princess, and he’s looking after her, big time...
