Launched over five years ago, the Sirtfood Diet is followed by celebrities throughout the world. To follow the sirtfood plan, you must choose foods that work by activating sirtuins. These play a part in influencing the body's ability to boost metabolism and burn fat. The result is a loss of up to seven pounds a week. Using sirtfoods within your favorite recipes is a lot easier than you may think, too. The plan is split into two phases. Phase one lasts for seven days and restricts calorie intake to 1000 calories daily for an initial three days. During this time, Sirtfood Diet founders instruct followers to consume only three sirtfood green juices and one sirtfood-rich main meal daily. Once the initial three-day phase has passed, it's time to move on. From days four to seven, calorie intake can increase to 1500 calories. During this time, you can have two sirtfood green juices, and two main meals made using ingredients from the sirtfood-rich list. The second or maintenance phase lasts 14 days, during which time a steady weight loss should occur. During these two weeks, you can have three sirtfood meals a day, plus one green juice. You can also enjoy two sirtfood snacks. The good news is, during this phase, there is no calorie-intake limit. If you want to follow the Sirtfood Diet or are just looking to add some sirtfoods to your regular daily diet, check-out our 40 sweet and savory recipes, • Go-To Green Juice • Matcha Green Tea with Vanilla • Brownie Bites • Date and Walnut Porridge • Mocha Chocolate Mousse • Asian King Prawn Stir-Fry with Buckwheat Noodles • Chickpea, Quinoa, and Turmeric Curry • Coronation Chicken Salad • Lamb, Butternut Squash and Date Tagine • Turkey Escalope with Cauliflower Couscous • and more! If you intend to continue with the Sirtfood Diet on a long-term basis, you can enjoy three sirtfood-rich mains a day plus one sirtfood juice. Losing as little as 5 percent of your weight can reduce your risk of diabetes, heart disease, osteoarthritis, and more, so what have you got to lose! (Remember, before following any restrictive diet plan, it's a good idea to talk first to a healthcare professional)
