Seventeen-year-old Fallon Adler is rebellious, irresponsible, sloppy, and just about every other unbecoming adjective under the sun. Her time does not permit anxiety over a future she can’t make out. Unlike her academically driven best friend Fallon is not clambering for admission to a top-tier university. Fallon’s older brother, who has been her guardian ever since their scientist parents hitchhiked it to Africa, is fed-up with her insolence. He laments that his sister would much rather obsess over her favorite celebrity, Elsie Mio, than worry about her own future. Twenty-one-year old Elsie Mio is taking the world by storm. She is the prevailing figure in the industry thanks to the success of her popular talk show, Curfew Crook, and is in the middle of a major nationwide tour. Life is good … as long as she ignores the fact that her health is suffering thanks to a rare condition. But one fateful night threatens to destroy years of hard work, and Elsie must decide between putting herself first or her career. On top of that, Elsie’s past and present collide as she is suddenly confronted by old relationships that still leave her scarred. As each girl struggles to reconcile with her own misgivings, Fate unites them in an unlikely way. Fallon and Elsie will both have to learn to let go of the past if they ever hope to embrace a better future. Along the way, they begin to understand the importance of appreciating those who have always been there for them, and what true sacrifice really means.
