Death is a Drum ... Beating Forever

Called by the President of Transniger -- a dusty country on the southern border of the Sahara -- to investigate a rash of murders, Quarshie finds that the victims were all unlikely candidates for murder. A ten-year-old Dutch girl; an eccentric American missionary; a Russian cultural attaché. Yet they did have something in common: they were all white and they had all met the same fate -- death by garroting. And when a nubile young lady tries to slip something more than her arms around Dr. Quarshie's neck, he is provided with his first break in the case.
