Jack Micheline Jack Micheline was born Harvey Martin Silver on November 6, 1929 in the East Bronx. His travels began at the age of 17. He began publishing in 1954 and soon moved to Greenwich Village. In 1958 he published one his most well known collections, River of Red Wine. He lived as a street poet and was associated with the Beats. He died of a heart attack riding a San Francisco BART on February 27, 1998.
