In this short tale, three very different men face the importance of death, friendship, and pleasure in everyday life. When twenty-eight-year-old Nicholas West reflects details of his family’s history along the shore of Lake Samoy in New York, he comprehends the mysteries of death for the very first time. A middle-aged man named Isaac experiences an infatuation for a lifelong friend and discovers that his world becomes over-filled with sunflowers and a risqué transition, once retiring from his career. Nebraska Close, a professional photographer who is drawn to summer nights and a younger man’s skin, finds pleasure for a second time in his life. Unconditionally these three men come together and explore passion and pain, cumbersome dramas, and learn to overcome the nuances of everyday life.
