This edition is the so-called "first series" of stories about Dorcas Dene. It is a different book from those subtitled "Her Life and Adventures" or "The Complete Adventures". This contains the first eleven stories about the actress turned detective, beginning with "The Council of Four" and ending with "The Brown Bear Lamp".
