Louise Clarke Today I went to my first funeral. My Nan, who has lived with us as long as I can remember, died a couple of weeks ago and today is the day I said goodbye to her. She used to tell me stories about the creatures beyond the Nether and the Veil that anchors our two worlds together. What I didn't know because she didn't tell me, is that her stories were real and I would have to go to a world called Mortaynia to help the Sylphs that live there. I am 16 years old and live a very ordinary life until I get thrown into a world with Fairies, Sylphs, Dwarvenites, Giants and Warlock's whose mission in life seems to be to kill me. Lily, a Sylph people's official liaison officer and her colleague Troy visit me on the night of my Nan's funeral and my journey begins. I go to Mortaynia, Troy becomes me and it all gets very confusing. If you are still young then you will retain enough innocence to still believe in magic. If you are older and worn out with the need to pay your bills and remember to buy milk then you might have to stretch your mind back to when you did believe in magic. Either way this is my story filled with life, death and lots of wonderful things in between.
