In the beautiful hills of Vermont, two brothers and their city friend Clyde are goaded by their sister Sue into trying to find out if there is any truth in the story Grampa likes to tell about gold being hidden in the old house. With persistence and great ingenuity they manage to find a real clue to the gold-Grampa's story is not just a tall tale. But the clue unfortunately is in code.
