This book is based on the true story of Nanette's life. It describes the abuses and neglect of her and her siblings in childhood and her progression forward into life. It describes her driving passion to succeed. She brings to life how those early patterns learned in childhood, continued to destroy her and her happiness, how she struggled and learned to replace that way of thinking and doing. She fought to destroy those patterns, to turn her thinking around to a positive actions in her life. She tells how those integrated patterns rendered her unable to keep love and sustain a relationship. Nanette became a person who loved too much and exhausted herself. She was unable to receive love herself due to the way she was raised. With a lot of help from a dedicated young psychologist she was able recognise her harmful learned patterns, to identify 'why' her life didn't work and 'why' things were just so hard. Nanette was determined to get well and undertook that journey with a vengeance. With excellent therapy she was able to 'find a life' for herself. This book has been written in the hope that it helps sufferers of abuse. It is for those with PTSD and counsellors working with these disorders. It is a good gift for a friend or a person in need.
