When the Polish Cypher Bureau discover that the Germans are using a new type of code that they are unable to de-cypher, they decide to recruit mathematics students in a new approach to code-breaking. Marian Rejewski is one of those recommended to the Bureau and, along with other brilliant students, he attends a secret course in code breaking. Having been supplied with a commercial enigma machine and a set of user manuals, Marian sets out alone to break the code. His work is carried out with the utmost serecy but, with the outbreak of war with Germany becoming increasingly likely, time is running out....
