"Today's the day we disappear." So said Hettie Yoder to her friend on August 16, 1943. Why would two teenage girls need to disappear? 1943 is a tumultuous year for the Yoder family. Far away at CPS camp, Elam is facing challenges too. How should a conscientious objector act when he boards a train full of sneering soldiers? To top it all off, Father ends up in prison! For the world as a whole, 1943 is tumultuous as the war grinds on, leaving a trail of bloodshed and heartache. But tumults and storms are the chariots of almighty God; all is in His power.
