What is the nature of the the contemplations of a murderer and rapist looking back on his crimes? He runs from his home and life in London when the incidental sighting of a face from the past brings up a sledge of buried memory. On the Eastern coast of Ireland he begins piercing together the salient facts in the hope of recovering his confidence and returning home to his wife in the suburbs of London. Memory stands in his way; memory and guilt. Unless he can resolve the matters at the root of his contemplations he's facing a nightmare of judicial procedure or perhaps death by his own hand ... 'A Theory Of The Sea' is about the problems of redemption in a secular age and about the contemplations of a murderer and rapist when viewing his crimes from a far more developed consciousness. It's also about love and the weight of love when measured against obsession.
