Ear of the People

Set seven years after the events of Water Princess, Fire Prince, the people have begun to grow discontent with their peace and prosperity. Good isn't good enough. Jasmine and Karlos have both grown up, but neither is quite certain of their place in society. Karlos is the son of Lord Abraham, but because his mother was never the Lady, he cannot inherit, nor claim the title that would otherwise belong to him. Jasmine may be secure in her position as the handmaid to the Water Princess, but her sister's recent marriage to the Lor'Son has made her own rank uncertain. Unsure where they belong, both often feel overlooked and powerless. Especially given that the people have begun petitioning them for solutions to their woes. Solutions they have no power to bring about.
